FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I make an appointment?

Call today at 432-279-0665 and discuss your concerns. From there, you along with the speech pathologist, can decide if a screening or full in-depth evaluation is needed.

How do I know if my child's language skills are age appropriate?

Although there are standardized developmental milestones, every child will acquire skills at a different pace. If you are concerned about your child's language development, it is recommended that you contact your pediatrician and Tall City Speech. Our certified speech-language pathologist can help determine factors that may be slowing down language development, and counsel parents on the next steps to take. We offer a brief screening to an in-depth, extensive evaluation. We also can work with evaluations completed at other facilities or by other professionals. Do you take insurance?

All services at TCS are private pay (out-of-pocket). However, you can file a receipt with your insurance company for reimbursement. Insurance coverage varies by the specific policy you have. Each insurance company writes many different policies so it is best to contact Member Services for the information that applies to you and your child.

Do we need a referral from our doctor before you can see us?

No, you do not need a referral from your doctor to be seen. However, if you have insurance that covers speech therapy, we advise you to check with the insurance company prior to making an appointment with TCS. Some insurance companies have very specific requirements that must be met to assure access to benefits.

TCS cannot advise you about your coverage. The best resource for information is your Health Plan administrator OR call Member Services/Patient Services at your insurance company.
